He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and later lived in Newport News, Virginia, where he grew up and launched his music career. Quan rose to wider attention when Nassigned him to Ill Will Records and featured him on the song "Just a Moment"from Nas’s 2004 album Street’s Disciple. His heartfelt verse on that track earned respect in the hip‑hop community.
He spent several years working on his debut album titled Until My Death, recording over 400 songs and planning features from major artists like Nas, Cassidy, The Neptunes, and Missy Elliott. However, the album was put on hold and never officially released.
In 2008, Quan signed a joint venture deal with Just Blaze’s Fort Knocks Entertainmentand Ill Will Records. He released his debut album Walking Testimonyin 2009 through Amalgam Digital. He continued to put out mixtapes and worked on the project Glorious Struggle, with Point of No Returnarriving in 2016.
Quan earned a reputation as a self‑taught, street‑informed artist blending soulful singing and rap. He was often described as the “Rap‑Sing King.” Beyond music, he has pursued interests in writing, modeling, acting, and building a multimedia facility under his label Kingz Nation Entertainment.
