He first gained attention as the vocalist for the Connecticut metal band Obsession, releasing several albums in the 1980s. In 1988, he joined the Japanese band Loudness, where he sang on Soldier of Fortune(1989) and On the Prowl(1991). In the early 1990s, Vescera worked with guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen on albums such as The Seventh Signand Magnum Opus.
He later formed his own band, MVP (the Mike Vescera Project), and worked with groups like Dr. Sin, Roland Grapow, and several metal projects including Animetal USA, D-Metal Stars, and AniMaze X, which adapted pop culture themes into a heavy metal style. As a producer and engineer, he runs recording studios called “The Toy Room” in Nashville and Milford, Connecticut, and has produced projects for other metal artists.
Michael Vesceracontinues to front the revived Obsession, leads his own Vescera band, and performs internationally at festivals and live shows, keeping his legacy alive in the metal scene.
