Early Life
Karen Kopins was born on October 10, 1961, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She went to Ridgefield High School and later graduated from Marymount College before moving to California to follow her acting dreams. In 1977, while still in high school and representing Ridgefield, she won the Miss Connecticut pageant.
Career
Karen Kopins starred in the films Fast Forward, Creator, Once Bitten, opposite Jim Carrey, and Jake Speed, and appeared in guest roles in various television shows, such as The A Teamand Riptide. She was cast as one of Charlie’s Angels in the unaired spin off Angels ’88. Kopins had a small role in an episode of Amazing Stories, one of two directed by series creator Steven Spielberg. Her only recurring TV part was during seasons 11 and 13 of Dallas, where she played Kay Lloyd, a love interest of Bobby Ewing. She also played Eugenia Weeks, a former beauty queen who befriends Suzanne, in an episode of Designing Women.
Beyond Dallas, she appeared on shows like Full House, T.J. Hooker, Knight Rider, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and Midnight Caller, usually in guest parts.
Most of her acting work took place in the mid 1980s, and she ended her acting and modeling career around 1994.
