Peter Joseph Polaco was born on October 16, 1973 in Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S. His parents moved to the U.S. from Portugal a few years earlier, and he learned to speak Portuguese fluently. He grew up in Connecticut and maintained strong ties with his Portuguese roots.
When he was 18, he moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to train under Keith Hart and Lance Storm at the Hart family wrestling school. He trained for about two months, attending classes five days a week, each session lasting up to four hours. Only two students out of nine completed the course.
He lived in a small motel near Calgary while training. He made his first match appearance in November 1992, at age 19, for a Rocky Mountain wrestling group. Shortly after that, he had a match against Chris Jericho. He returned home for the holidays and then left again to keep pursuing wrestling, even though he had little money and sometimes went without food so his family would not worry.

Professional Wrestling Career

World Wrestling Federation As Aldo Montoya (1993–1997)

Peter Polaco wrestled in WWF under the name Aldo Montoya, also called the "Portuguese Man‑O’War." He competed as enhancement talent in the mid‑1990s. During this time, he worked with many well‑known wrestlers and gained varied experience. Eventually he asked for his release from WWF in 1997 to seek better opportunities.

Extreme Championship Wrestling (1997–2001)

Polaco joined ECWin 1997 and started using the ring name Justin Credible. Paul Heyman pushed him as a new star. In 1999 he formed a tag team with Lance Storm called The Impact Players. They became one of the top units in ECW, winning the ECW World Tag Team Championship and feuding with top names like Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Jerry Lynn, and Rob Van Dam.

ECW World Heavyweight Champion

On April 22, 2000 at CyberSlam, Credible attacked Tommy Dreamer and quickly beat him to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championshipin an unexpected moment. He held the title for over five months, defending it against Dreamer, Steve Corino, Raven, Jerry Lynn, and others. His reign lasted approximately 162 days before he lost the belt in October 2000.

Return To WWE And The Alliance (2001–2003)

After ECW closed in early 2001, Credible returned to WWF. He aligned with X‑Pac and Albert as part of a group called X-Factor. Later, when WWF began the "Invasion" storyline, he joined The Alliancewith other ECW and WCW wrestlers. He also wrestled on lesser‑seen shows like Sunday Night Heat.

Independent Circuit And Other Promotions (2003–2006)

After leaving WWE again, Credible competed for many independent wrestling promotions. He appeared in promotions like Ring of Honor, XPW, and TNA. In TNA, he formed a group with other former ECW stars and revived his rivalry with Jerry Lynn. He also joined Major League Wrestlingas part of the Xtreme Horsemenstable.

Later Career And Retirement (2006–2015)

In 2005 and 2006, Credible worked in events like Hardcore Homecomingand Wrestling Society X. He wrestled several TV matches in TNA and independents, including a marquee match at Genesis 2005. He retired from full-time wrestling in late 2015.

Legacy And Personal Journey

Justin Credible is remembered as a key heel in ECW’s later years. He held both the ECW World Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships, and stood out during a transitional era for the promotion. Credible has also been open about his struggles with painkiller addiction and recovery. In 2021, he released an autobiography titled Just a Dream to... Justin Credible!where he shared his career and personal experiences.
