Amateur Career
Frank Mozzicato pitched for East Catholic High School in Manchester, Connecticut, where he became known during his senior year in 2021. He led his team to a perfect 25–0 season and a Class M state championship. That season, he struck out 135 batters, posted an ERA of 0.16, and threw four straight no-hitters, going 49⅔ scoreless innings overall. In the state championship game, he struck out 17 batters and allowed just one hit while shutting out the opponent.
His dominant spring performance brought national attention. Scouts arrived in large numbers as his fastball climbed from the mid‑80s into the low‑90s. He paired that with a top-tier curveball considered among the best breaking balls in high school baseball. Despite being relatively unheralded at first, his consistent success paired with projection made him rise rapidly into first‑round draft consideration.

Professional Career
Frank Mozzicato signed with the Kansas City Royals after being selected seventh overall in the 2021 MLB Draft and started his pro career in 2022 at Low-A Columbia, posting a 4.30 ERA with 89 strikeouts over 69 innings while still working on control. In 2023, he moved up to High‑A Quad City, experienced some early struggles, but ultimately improved to a 3.45 ERA with 91 strikeouts in 101⅔ innings, earning a Minor League Gold Glove Award in 2024 for defensive excellence and being rated the Royals' No. 10 prospect by Baseball America. In early 2025, he was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month for April after posting a 1.24 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 36⅓ innings with a 1.02 WHIP at Quad City, leading to a promotion to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
