Standing out with jaw-dropping moves and fearless energy, AR Fox(Thomas Ballester) has captured the attention of wrestling fans everywhere. Raised in Ansonia, Connecticut, he trained at WWA4 under Curtis “Mr.” Hughes and honed his aerial style in promotions like EVOLVE, CZW, Dragon Gate USA, and Lucha Underground. Known for his signature moves like the Lo Mein Pain and Foxcatcher, Fox earned accolades and title wins across the independent scene. After years of building his name, he signed with AEW in late 2022—finally bringing his high-flying talents to a major platform. His career journey is packed with passion, creativity, and explosive action.

Early Life

Thomas James Ballester was born on September 5, 1987, in Ansonia, Connecticut. He grew up loving Bruce Lee movies and practicing backflips, handstands, and climbing walls around his home. Since childhood, he play-fought and staged backyard wrestling shows with friends and family using his acrobatics and creative moves.
After working briefly at a grocery store called Big Y World Class Market in his hometown, he left that job once his wrestling started getting attention. Ballester’s athletic energy and stunts from home led him toward wrestling in real life. By channeling his passion into training, he later turned it into a full-time path.

Professional Wrestling Career

Early Career (2007–2010)

AR Fox (real name Thomas James Ballester) began after training under Curtis “Mr.” Hughes at the WWA4 wrestling school in Atlanta. He debuted in 2007 using the ring name “Ampliflyer” and worked small independent shows like WWA4 and Prime Time Pro Wrestling. In 2009, he adopted the name AR Fox, believing he needed to “outfox” opponents because of his smaller size.

Combat Zone Wrestling (2010–2014)

Fox joined Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) on February 13, 2010, losing his first match. He earned his first win in CZW on April 10, 2010, in a three-way match. Later that year, he won the Chris Cash Aerial Assault ladder match, becoming the top contender for the CZW World Junior Heavyweight title. After several challenges, he became the CZW Wired TV Champion in June 2011 and eventually won the CZW World Junior Heavyweight Championship in July 2011. He was the final holder of the title when it was retired. Fox defended these titles multiple times through 2013 and became a top star in CZW's junior division.

Independent Circuit & Tournament Success (2010–Present)

Fox expanded his work across the independent wrestling world. In Full Impact Pro (FIP), he challenged for the heavyweight and junior titles, ultimately winning the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup in 2011 by beating Johnny Gargano in the finals. He also wrestled in Dragon Gate USA, teaming with Cima to win the Open the United Gate Championship, and in PWG where he competed in standout tag matches alongside Samuray del Sol.
Fox held major titles in Evolve (including their inaugural Evolve Championship and tag title), AAW, Dreamwave, Fight The World Wrestling, Insanity Pro Wrestling, Legacy, Rockstar Pro, and others. He also became Lucha Underground Trios Champion alongside Killshot and Willie Mack.

All Elite Wrestling and ROH (2022–Present)

In November 2022, after impressing on AEW Dark and Dynamite, Fox signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling. His official debut saw him team with Top Flight to challenge Death Triangle for the AEW Trios Championship. He also appeared on Ring of Honor as part of AEW’s sister promotion. In early AEW appearances, he competed against stars like Eddie Kingston, Fenix, and Samoa Joe.

Trainer and Wrestling Educator

Fox is the head trainer at WWA4 in Atlanta, where he teaches new wrestlers and has trained talents like Austin Theory, Jade Cargill, Alan Angels, Lee Johnson, and others. He’s gained respect as both a performer and a mentor behind the scenes.

Style and In-Ring Approach

AR Fox is known for his fast, acrobatic style and inventive finishing moves like the Lo Mein Pain, Foxcatcher, and ARKO. He places strong focus on in-ring psychology, studying top wrestlers to refine his craft. Fans and fellow wrestlers praise his athleticism, fluid motion, and creative storytelling during matches.
