Biography

Robert Jimmy White Jr., born August 9, 1960in Hartford, Connecticut, has four known victims and a long history of terrible actions. His first violent act was in April 1980, when, at 19 years old, he attacked Betty Jo Robertson, age 46. He followed her after meeting her in a bar, then forcibly beat her and smashed her head on the sidewalk. She died the next day. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughterand was sent to prison for 10 to 20 years.
After serving eight and a half years, White was released on parole in July 1989. From 1997 to 2013, while on parole or free, he brutally murdered three womenin Hartford:
On August 14, 1997, Shiraleen Crawford, age 30, was found dead in her apartment. She had been beaten with blunt force and stabbed multiple times in the head, chest, and neck. Her body showed signs of a violent sexual assault.
On September 27, 2012, Sonia Rivera, age 48, was attacked in an alley off Washington Street. She suffered severe head and face trauma, hospitalized for five days before dying. Investigators believe it involved sexual violence as well.
On March 16, 2013, his girlfriend Sawaried Krichindath, age 59, was found suffocated and stabbed in her Hartford apartment. He confessed to her death in March 2013 and was later convicted.
After his arrest, White was convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prisonfor the 2013 murderof Krichindath. In 2018, while already serving that sentence, he pled guilty under the Alford doctrinefor killing Crawford and Rivera. He received two more 50-year prison terms, to be served consecutively, making a total of 100 years in prison.
White is registered as a sex offender and law enforcement described him as having a "pattern of violence against women, often including violent sexual assaults".
