Hotboii, whose real name is Javarri Latre Walker, was born on June 13, 2000, in Orlando, Florida. He is best known by his stage names Hotboii, Hotboii438, Double 0 Baby, and Mr Kut The Fan On. He grew up in the Pine Hills area of Orlando and was raised in a large household with sixteen siblings. From a very young age, he developed a strong interest in music. By the age of seven, he had already begun writing rap lyrics. His mother played a key role in supporting his musical journey, and in 2016, she helped him upload his music to the internet for the first time.
Between 2016 and 2018, Hotboii spent two years in juvenile detention for a breaking and entering case. During that time, he focused on improving his songwriting skills and used his time behind bars to work on his craft. After being released, he continued pursuing his music career seriously. In 2019, he gained attention with his song “YG’s,” which reflected his experiences growing up in a tough environment.
His big breakthrough came in April 2020 when he released the single “Don’t Need Time,” a heartfelt track dedicated to a close friend who had passed away. The song’s emotional tone and piano-driven beat made it popular online, and it quickly gained millions of views on YouTube. In August 2020, he released a remix of the song featuring rapper Lil Baby. The video for the remix addressed police violence and paid tribute to victims of injustice, which helped spread his message even further.
On May 22, 2020, Hotboii released a mixtape called “Kut Da Fan On,” which included songs like “Don’t Need Time,” “YG’s,” and “Goat Talk.” The mixtape was praised for its raw emotion and honesty. Later that year, in December 2020, he dropped his first studio album, “Double O Baby,” which featured collaborations with well-known artists like Lil Mosey, Toosii, and Pooh Shiesty. This album showed his versatility and growth as an artist. He followed this up with another project, “Life of a Hotboii,” released on December 10, 2021, where he focused on sharing more about his life struggles and personal journey. His next major release, “Blinded by Death,” came out in July 2022. This album included guest appearances from major rappers such as Lil Uzi Vert and Kodak Black. It reached number 89 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking a significant achievement in his career.
Hotboii is signed to several major music labels, including Geffen Records, Interscope Records, Rebel Music, Hitmaker Music Group, and 22 Entertainment. His song “Don’t Need Time” was certified Gold in April 2021 and went Platinum in July 2022, showing its strong impact and wide popularity.
Despite his musical success, Hotboii has faced legal troubles. In July 2021, he was arrested and charged with racketeering and conspiracy in connection with a gang called 438 in Orlando. He later pleaded guilty to one of the charges and served two years in prison. He was released in September 2024 under probation. Unfortunately, in February 2025, he was arrested again for violating the conditions of his probation.
On a personal note, Hotboii is a father to one son. He has openly talked about living with ADHD, which affects his focus and attention, but he continues to pursue his music career with determination. His journey from writing raps at age seven to becoming a nationally recognized rapper shows how much he has grown through both his challenges and achievements.
